Google Nexus 4 Gets A Price Drop, to cost Rs 18,000

Google is readying itself up for the launch of the Nexus 5 and before that has dropped the prices of its Nexus 4 by 25 percent to give a shot in the arm to the sales of the outgoing device. It will however continue to sell alongside the Nexus 5 in all probability.

Google, the internet giant has just made an announcement that it will be dropping the price of its flagship smartphone, the Nexus 4 by 25 percent. The 8GB variant of the device which till now had been selling for $249 will now be sold at a price of $199 whereas its sibling, the 16GB variant will be available for buying for $249 instead of $349.

The price drop has been announced by Google’s official twitter handle and it will be applicable inGermany, USA, UK, Australia, Spain, Korea and Canada.

But that does not mean that the other markets will be left behind. We are pretty sure of the fact that the markets in which Google does not sell it through the play store, for instance India will get the price cut as well. The smartphone currently sells for Rs 25,000 in India and a 25 percent drop would make it cost around Rs 18,000 and that price, it will surely sell like hot cakes.

It comes with a 4.7 inch screen with a 720p resolution. It has a 1.5GHz quad core Snapdragon S4 pro processor doing duty inside the device and that gets complemented by a 2GB RAM. It comes with 8GB and 16GB non expandable storage options.It runs on Android 4.3 Jelly Bean. At the back is 8MP shooter which teams up with a 1.3MP front camera.

3G, Wi-Fi, Bluetooth and NFC facilitate your connectivity and a 2,100 mAh battery gives it the juice to last a little under a day. The smartphone is quite the raw performer and at a price tag of Rs 18,000, it will be gunning for the throats of flagship devices from companies like Micromax and Karbonn.
