Desh Prem Azad, Famous Cricket Coach, is no more

16.08.2013: Desh Prem Azad passes away. He was a famous cricket coach. Azad had coached several test cricketers including Kapil Dev. He was 75. Azad passes away due to brief illness. Southern Punjab, Maharaja of Patiala’s XI, Haryana teams represented by Azad, as a cricketer. In 2002 he was awarded Wisden Cricket Award. Yograj Singh, Ashok Malhotra, Chetan Sharma were coached by Azad. He acheived Dronacharya Award.

Kalyan Mitter, Former Bengal all rounder, Passes Away

16.08.2013: Kalyan Mitter who was former Bengal all rounder is no more. From past few years he was suffering with Leukemia. He was 79. He also acted as coach. Between 1953 to 1969 from 51 matches he took 50 wickets and scored 1698 runs. Matches include 2 Ranji Final matches. During 1992- 1994 he acted as coach to Bengal team. He was an off spinner and right hand batsman.

Interest Rates on NRI deposits Increased by 1%

16.08.2013: PNB raised interest Rates on NRI deposits of above 3 years increased by 1%. This decision has taken after regulation of interest rates on such deposits by RBI. On fixed deposits FCNR made by NRI’s in terms of Australian dollars, Canadian dollars, Japanese Yen, Euros, Pounds, US Dollars, Increased interest rates will be applicable.

16.08.2013: 1 Rupee Entertainment Sores Launched by Bharti Airtel. This store is offering several services to download such as photos, videos, games, music. All the services are providing for one rupee only. Internet service also can be browsed for just one rupee.

Rupee value lowered by Rs.62

16.08.2013: In the stock market history new thing has happened. For the first time Rupee value has come down by 62/-. Due to this Indian Stock Market came out of trillion dollars league. This incident has happened due to equity crashed made the US stimulus withdrawals. Listed companies market capitalisation stood at Rs.60, 73,881.22 crores. From past 4 years this was the greatest fall of stock market.

Reliance Retail launched its 8th Store in Madurai

16.08.2013: Reliance Retailer is countries leading retailer. Its first cash & carry store was Reliance Market. It has opened its 8th store in Madurai. It has occupied 65400 sq.feet. 6000 products will be available in this place. Located on Madurai Melur Road. Other stores are located at Chennai, Guntur, Faridabad, Anand, Bangalore, Mumbai, and Ahmadabad. If person wants to become member he should have business license issued by panchayat or Municipality or by the government.

TVS energy Major stake acquired by Green Infra Limited

16.08.2013: TVS energy Major stake acquired by Green Infra Limited. Company will have control on 59.75 Megawatts Wind Farms. At present operating capacity of the plant is 377 MW. Company is expecting that capacity will reach to 500 MW by the end of March 2014.

Business Agreement between Aerovironment and Dynamatic technologies

16.08.2013: Business Agreement between Aerovironment and Dynamatic technologies who was the manufacturer of defence and aerospace products. Both the companies will work together to meet the demands of the customers including Ministry of Home affairs and Ministry of defence.

Chidambaram launched National skill Certification and Monetary Reward Scheme

16.08.2013: Chidambaram launched National skill Certification and Monetary Reward Scheme. Under Mahatma Gandhi National Rural Employment Guarantee program persons from rural household has to complete 100 days work then he will be Eligibility for this scheme. Aim is to bring minimum 45 lakh rural youth under this scheme.

Rs.1000 crores Sanctioned to Gujarat State

16.08.2013: Central has sanctioned Rs.1000 crores for rural Road project to the Gujarat State. Jairam Ramesh, Rural Development Minister has sent the sanction letter stating that Rs.970 crores sanctioned to the state for building 919 rural roads. Letter sent to Gujarat Chief Minister. Under PMGSY (Pradhan Mantri Grameen Sadak Yojana) scheme amount was sanctioned.

Delhi’s Thygaraj Stadium is First Green Stadium

16.07.2013: CII Indian Green Building Councils (IGBC) gold rating awarded to Delhi’s Thyagaraj Stadium. It was the first green stadium in the country. At the facilitation program, Sheila Dikshit chief Minister of Delhi given certificate and gold rated plaque presented by Prem C Jain, IGBC Chairman and Chandrajit Banerjee, Director General of CII (Confederation of Indian Industry). Cost of this stadium is Rs.300 crores.

Swavalambana Pension Scheme for Low Income Group People

16.07.2013: Guwahati Government implemented Swavalambana Pension Scheme to Low income Group People. This scheme will start initially with Social Welfare Department for Anganwadi Workers. Under this scheme if person pay Rs.1000 years to the Government, it will give another Rs.1000 to that people. This scheme introduced under Pension Fund Regulatory and Development Authority (PFRDA).
