Hyderabad: All arrangements are being made to set up nearly 1400 permanent Aadhar enrolment centres in Andhra Pradesh to solve the problems being faced in Aadhar registrations. These will be set up by the end of August in all Panchayats. These centres can be approached to make correction s in the Aadhar cards and also for registrations.

In Vijayanagaram, Kurnool, Nalgonda and Mahboobnagar, Aadhar registration procedure is taken up by census authorities. The details of nearly 40 lakh people belonging to these districts were rejected by the central computer system. The reason for the system to reject the records are several such more same person registering with the name more than once, records not matching etc. The records of nearly 22 lakh people are accepted by the computer system. In these four districts the details of another 30 lakh people are to be registered for Aadhar cards including children less than 5 years of age. Since Telugu is the official language in Andhra Pradesh, preference is being given to record addresses in Telugu which led to registering of details of several people twice.

Direct Money Transfer scheme is going to be implemented in another eight districts in the second phase in Andhra Pradesh. These districts are Guntur, Krishna, Nalgonda, Srikakulam, Vijayanagaram, Cuddapah, Kurnool and Adilabad. The scheme will come into implementation in these districts from September 2013. In the first phase, Direct Money Transfer scheme was implemented in Hyderabad, Ranga Reddy, Anantapur, Chittoor, East Godavari districts. Till now Rs. 42 crores were deposited in banks under gas subsidy.

According to officials, the new Aadhar enrolment centres allow the people walk in to the centres and there will be o need to book a slot. These centres will come into operation first in the districts in which Aadhar linked gas subsidy reimbursement scheme is in implementation.
