New Delhi: Hyundai i10 has been one of the most sold hatchbacks in the Indian market so far and the model is also one of the most reputed among all models of the manufacturer.

The upcoming version of the Hyundai i10 has been spotted in Chennai during the test phase and an enthusiast has managed to grab few snaps of the vehicle. The test mule was fully covered with camouflage and thus we may not get a clear picture of the car from the respective spy snaps unveiled by MotorVikatan. Hyundai has been working on this small car since long time in order to grab the momentum in the Indian market by giving a tough fight for Chevrolet Beat, Maruti Suzuki Ritz etc. that have been reputed in recent years.

The i10 2014 is going to be powered with a 1.1 liter three cylinder turbo charged engine that is capable of generating around 74 bhp of power at the peak. The entry level version of the upcoming i10 is going to be powered with a 1.0 liter 3 cylinder engine which will be capable of generating a bit lesser power than the standard version. The current 1.1 liter iRDE engine will be going to extinct but the top end variant will be equipped with the same 1.2 liter Kappa2 petrol engine.

The future i10 seems to be somewhat bigger and wider than the outgoing version and is expected to have redefined outer body and a fresh look. The interior is also expected to get modified and some special features are expected to be integrated to the model. The engine specs of this upcoming model are similar to that of European version of Hyundai’s i20. As the European i20 is having CO2 emission rate as 85 g/km, the upcoming Hyundai i10 2014 may also has the same CO2 emission rate.

As per the information, Hyundai is likely to unveil the upcoming i10 2014 at the Frankfurt Motor Show that is due to be held in the month of September this year. Hyundai may start the production of the model at their Chennai plant.
