Nokia to Release 3D Printing Kits: 3D Cases for Lumia Series Mobiles
Nairobi: Nokia is one of the largest mobile handset manufacturers in the world. But lately it is losing to Samsung, Apple and other manufacturers. It is trying hard to regain its position in the mobile market. It has released high end mobile phones with advanced specs by name Lumia series of mobiles. It has added new features to these phones now. It is going to provide 3D printing cases to these mobiles. It is going to be one of the earliest companies to have entered in to 3D printing technology. It is going to release design templates for cases of Lumia mobiles. In the first stage, Lumia 820 handset is going to get these cases.
This Finnish mobile manufacturer has announced that it is going to release a 3D printing developer kit through blogspot. This technology is called as nascent technology which can be considered as sequel to the industrial revolution. These are many special features for this 3D printing design cases. They are water resistant. They can also glow in the dark. They can be used as bottle opener. Also, they can get charged with solar charger also. Another special feature is that users can also print their own designs on these 3D cases. If the reports are to be believed Nokia has already started to use 3D printing technology for designing prototypes.
Lumia 820 mobile phone runs on Microsoft Windows Phone 8 operating system. It has been provided with qualcomm MSM 8960 Snapdragon chipset and runs on dual core 1.5 Ghz Krait processor. There is a special dedicated graphics processor on this mobile and it is Adreno 225.
Camera seen on Lumia 820 mobile phone is of 8 megapixels resolution and it is of dual LED flash type. Carl Zeiss optics is also supported on this mobile phone. Secondary camera is also seen on this mobile and it is of VGA or 0.3 megapixels resolution. Auto focus, touch focus and geo tagging feature are also supported on this mobile.
