Smart PC from Samsung through AT & T at 799$|Samsung ATIV Smart PC
New York: Nowadays the tablets and smart phones running on Windows 8 operating system are increasing in number. You can now find more number of Windows 8 based tablets in network operators’ stores. AT & T is now offering Samsung’ Smart PC running on Windows 8 operating system at a price of 799 $ without contract.
According to latest news, AT & T is going to offer Samsung’s ATIV Smart PC at a price of 799 USD. It will be released on 9th November. It runs on Windows 8 operating system. This tablet has got 9.9 millimeters of thickness and can get nearly 14.5 hours of stand by time up on charging once. It comes bundled with 64 GB of internal memory and with the provision of optional micro SD card, one can get up to 96 GB of storage. Considering its price, one can’t expect over the top performance when compared to the top players in the industry. This tablet runs on Atom Chip of Intel and not on Core i5 processor of Intel. But Core i5 processor is seen in Smart PC Pro from Samsung.
Surface RT Tablet from Windows is not having support for 4G connectivity or 3G connectivity, this new Samsung Tablet called ATIV Smart PC is having support for the same. For a price 100$ less than the price of present tablet, one can purchase Surface RT tablet which comes with 64 GB storage and keyboard. But there is some difference between the two. The Surface RT tablet runs on ARM powered processor which is commonly used for smart phones and also on non Windows tablets. But still, the price of Smart PC is high i.e. 799$. Minus point of this tablet is that it doesn’t come with dock or stand, and hence users need to spend 50$ more for their purchase. Also, Smart PC doesn’t come with keyword which is preferred by most of Windows users.
AT & T mentions that ATIC Smart PC runs on dual core Intel Atom chip of 1.5 Ghz clocking speed and comes with Office 2010 trial version. Smart PC can extend support to all previous versions of Windows applications since it runs on Windows 8 but not on Windows RT.
