Mahbubnagar is located in Mahbubnagar district of Andhra Pradesh, India. From Hyderabad it is located 100 kms away. Earlier name of this place is Palamooru. This place was also known as Cholawadi as it was the base to the Chola kingdom. During 221 BC and 218 AD this place was ruled by Satavahanas. After that several dynasties ruled this place namely Asaf jahi Dynasty, Qutb Shahi Dynasty, Golconda dynasty. This place is also having cultural importance. Popular dance forms of this place are burrakatha, Kolattam, bonalu, Lambadi.

Wanaparthi: It is located in Mahbubnagar district which is 53kms away from Mahbubnagar. This place is well associated with Qutub Shahi Kings and Rajas of Samasthans.

Gadwal: It is located in this district which is 94kms away from the city. This place is having historical and religious importance. Several kings ruled this place namely Vera Reddy, Sara Reddy, Peddle Vera, Kumar Vera Reddy, and Paludal. Major attraction of this place is Chennakeshwara Alayam. Rajas of Gadwal constructed this temple during 17th century. Gadwal Silk is most famous among India.

Srirangapur: Major attraction of this place is Sri Ranganayaka Swamy Temple. It was constructed by Krishna Deva Raya during 18th century.

Somasila: In the Mahbubnagar district it is one of the major attractions. This place consists of 15 temples. Lord Shiva is worshipped here. Karthik Poornima and Maha Shivrati are major festivals of this place.

Kolhapur: History of this place dates back to 2nd century. Major attractions of this place are Sri Lakshmi Narasimha Swamy Temple, Sri Madhava swamy Temple.

Umamaheshwaram: It is located very near to Achampet. This place is well known for Umamaheshwaram Temple. It was constructed in 2nd century. Mallikarjuna and Bhramaramba worshipped here. Papanashanam is the major highlight of this place.

Alampur: This place is famous for Nava Brahma Temple and Garuda Brahma Temple. Chalukyas constructed Nava Brahma Temple which consists of group of 9 temples. Alampur Jogulamba temple is other major attraction of this place. This temple is considered as one of the sakthi peethas.

Pillalamarri: This is famous for 700 years old banyan tree. Branches of this tree spread till 3 acres. Other attractions of this place are archaeological museum, aquarium, Zoological Park and boating during rainy season.
