Delhi – the capital city of India
Delhi, the capital city of India is a fusion of customs and traditions of various states. It has history of thousands of years. It has historic importance. The city is a mirror for national esteem and pride.
Normal life in Delhi is very simple. The city is suitable to live for all the income groups. People from any state can come to the capital city of India and live there without any problems. Delhi city police system is one of the largest police systems in the world. There is little to worry about security as there will be strict surveillance and observation in crowded places like railway stations. Small crimes are reported now and then which are exaggerated in the news papers and these are giving the feeling to the readers that there is no security in Delhi. The truth is Delhi is the safest city.
Since Delhi is the capital city of India many political shows and Dikshas are undertaken b the leaders. Roads in the city are blocked then. Though traffic is diverted jams are common. If the traffic rules are violated, traffic police send notice to the home asking to pay the fine. Driving while talking in the cell phone is offence and Rs. 1500 fine is to be paid for that offence. Though the rules and regulations are strict in Delhi, the services are also better. All the bill payments are to be done online. All the government systems function based on computers.
Delhi and surrounding areas together are called National Capital region. Gurgaon, Faridabad of Haryana state, Noida, Ghaziabad of Uttar Pradesh state are the parts of Delhi Metropolitan. Though all these are parts of Delhi Metropolitan, power, water and phone connection services are provided to these areas by the respective states. Road maintenance, water supply etc are also very systematic in Delhi. Introduction of Metro Rail made travelling easy for common people.
Shopping centres in Delhi
Sarojini Nagar Market (SN Market), Karol Bagh, South Extension, Lajapati Nagar are prime shopping centres. All these are situated in South Delhi. South Delhi is referred as the costliest zone. Marriage dresses and decoration items are available at Chandni Chowk. Wholesale shops in Sadar Bazaar sells various pulsed from all corners of India. Furniture shops are situated in Jail Road.
Education in Delhi
Education system in Delhi is changing rapidly. International, global standard schools are developed in education which ensures that no problem is faced by the students even when the students go to any educational institution in the world. Depending on the facilities offered by the schools, fee will be collected from few thousand rupees to few lakhs. An entrance test and an interview are held for school admissions. Seat is allotted depending on various factors like the distance of school from home, education of parents, child performances and if any sibling is studying in the same school or not.
National festivals in Delhi
Watching the Republic parade directly is the boon for people who are living in New Delhi. Republic Day parade is held every year from Rashtrapati Bhavan to Raj path. Seating arrangements are made in the lawns beside the parade. People who take prior permission can attend the parade. The exhibits from various states, military, air and navy forces and new missiles are exhibited.
Delhi – Garden City
Delhi is a city of gardens. Mogul gardens in Rashtrapati Bhavan are very special. Roshnara garden, Lodi garden are also very famous. Rose show is held in every January and Delhi Flower Show held at Purana Khila etc are famous events. Jan path road which is in news frequently has many national party offices and official residences of MPs and Parliament Bhavan. This area is a high security zone. Official buildings of many states like AP Bhavan are also situated in Delhi. All the state festivals, cultural activities, international film festivals are held in Lohi Road.
Fund and food village, Appu ghar, Zoo, Boating at Purana Khilla etc are big picnic spots in Delhi. In the Fun and Food village, a visitor can enjoy for the whole day with a Rs. 300 ticket.
Delhi life style
Sweater, monkey cap and snacks are to be worn even at home in winter in Delhi. Eating rotis in winter will provide heat to the body. People from various regions live peacefully in Delhi. People follow their own customs and traditions and at the same time respect the tradition of others. Living in Delhi in the midst of people from various regions is always a pleasure.
