Association of Exploration Geophysicists organized
its 31st Annual Convention and Third International
Seminar and Exhibition onExploration Geophysics
during 6-12 November, 2006 at Hyderabad
International Convention Centre, Hyderabad, India.
The Special theme of this seminar was
Integration of
Geosciences: Road to success for earth resources. The
seminar received overwhelming support and response
from the Industry. To view the complete list of

professional geoscientists, industrial planners,
investors, engineering geologists and research
scholars of geosciences. The delegates at the
seminar shared a comprehensive review of the
geological, geophysical, engineering and educational
challenges. A number of renowned geoscientists from
India and abroad presented state of art practices in
geosciences. This was a unique opportunity to enjoy
a broad cross-section of geology, geophysics and
related technology in the technical sessions, poster
sessions, exhibition and field trips.
Shri Mukesh Ambani, CMD, Reliance Industries Ltd.
was the Chief Guest of the seminar and in his
inaugural address proposed to start University of
Geosciences and expressed urgent need for setting up
of a school of geosciences and expressed his deep
concern for the unused brain power by many
geophysicists in exploration and development
geophysics.
He expressed his happiness to be present as a
facilitator on one hand and with distinguished
guests on the dais dealing in exploration strategy.
Shri V.K.Sibal addressed the audience and expressed
his thought provoking ideas in his presidential
address.
Prof. Y. Sreedhar Murthy presented his report on the
seminar.
