New Chief Justice of Meghalaya High Court is Justice Dinesh Maheshwari

26.2.2016: Governor of Meghalaya administered the oath as chief justice of Meghalaya high court to Justice Dinesh Maheshwari. He was working in Allahabad prior to this appointment. He succeeds Justice Uma Nath Singh whore retired in the month of January this year. Acting chief justice till then was Justice Sudip Ranjan Singh. Justice Dinesh Maheshwari studied law at Jodhpur University and enrolled as advocate in 1981. He also worked as judge in Rajasthan high court and Allahabad high court.

CSIR-National Chemical Lab Appoints Ashwini Nangia as Director

26.2.2016: Ashwini Nangia is the new the director of CSIR-National chemical laboratory, Pune. He is an IITian from Kanpur. He served NOCIL Agrochemicals R & D Centre, Navi Mumbai. He was also elected as fellow of Royal Society of Chemistry, London and so on. In the past twenty five years, he guided more than twenty PhD students at UoH.

United Spirits Limited Appointed MK Sharma as New Chairman

26.2.2016: USL appointed MK Sharma as the new chairman after Vijay Mallya stepped down as non executive chairman. Diageo now controls the USL and acquired 26 percent additional stake in July last year.

Ratan Tata named the Head of Innovative Committee of Indian Railways

26.2.2016: Ratan Tata will head the Indian Railway Innovative Committee announced the Railway minister Suresh Prabhu. The innovative committee will include National Academy of Indian Railways representatives, Kayakalp and Railway Boar representatives and will be headed by Ratan Tata.

The Sports Persons of the Year Award for Lalita Babar

26.2.2016: Lalita Babar, the female lost distance runner is named the Sports Person of the Year. India sports awards 2015 were announced at a ceremony organized by Sports Ministry and Federation of Indian Chambers of Commerce and Industry – FICCI. Lalita Babar won bronze medal in Incheon Asian Games in 2014. This Indian national record holder is also qualified for the Rio Olympics in 3000 meter steeplechase event. Breakthrough sports person of the year award for Gymnast for Dipa Karmarkar.
