Rajendra Singh to Head Coast Guard

25.2.2016: appointments committee of cabinet approved the appointment of Rajendra Singh to head coast guard.  He is presently serving as the director general of coast guard. He is not from Indian Navy and is the first non-navy officer to head the fourth armed force of the country.

Vishal Sikka’s Term Extended by Two Years by Infosys

25.2.2016: Infosys extended the term of MD and CEO, Vishal Sikka by two years. He will hold the position till 2021.  His term was to end in 2019.  He was the first non founder to appoint CEO and managing director of Infosys. He has taken various measures after assuming the officer in 2014 that include employee retention, forming corporate venture fund and so on.

New Chief Justice of Karnataka High Court Sworn-in

25.2.2016: Justice Subhro Kamal Mukherjee sworn in as the chief justice of Karnataka High Court.  He is the 28th chief justice of the high court. He took the oath in a ceremony held at Raj Bhawan.

Rohit Sharma is the Global Brand Ambassador of Nissan

25.2.2016: Indian cricketer Rohit Sharma is appointed as the new global brand ambassador.  Andre Russel of West Indies and Suzie Bates of New Zealand are the other two who were appointed the brand ambassadors.  These three will appear on advertising campaign and will be active on social media also during the ICC World Twenty 20 that is going to begin from March 8.

Sania, Kohli among 56 Indians in Forbes List

25.2.2016: Forbes launched the list of ‘promising young leaders and game changers’ under the age of 30 in Asia and there are fifty Indians in the list.    The sportspersons leading the list are tennis star Sania Mirza, Virat Kohli and Saina Nehwal. The list included the names from various countries such as India, China, Indonesia, Hong Kong, Singapore, Pakistan, Japan and Australia.  Fifty six Indians are in the list.  Actress Sharddha Kapoor is also in the list.  Forbes consumer tech category list is lead by Ritesh Agarwal, founder and CEO of disruptive hospitality business and app.
