New Chief Justice of Orissa High Court is Justice Vineet Saran

22.2.2016: President of India Pranab Mukherjee appointed Justice Vineet Saran as chief justice of Orissa high court. He will take charge on 26th of this month. He was the senior judge of Karnataka High Court prior to this. He succeeds D H Waghela who is now appointed as the chief justice of Bombay High Court.

New Military Chief of North Korea is Ri Myong Su

22.2.2016: According to state media reports of North Korea, the new military chief of the country is Ri Myong Su. He replaces Ri Yong-Gil who is reportedly executed on charges of corruption and political faction. Ri Myong-Su was the former People’s Security Minister.

Fastest Century by Brendon McCullum in Test cricket

22.2.2016: Brendon McCullum scored the fastest test cricket century. He played 54 balls to broke the record of Viv Richards and Misbah-ul-Haq. He was leading the New Zealand test team. He retired after playing his 101st test match in which he created the new record. Vivian Richards score century in 56 balls which was a record then and was equaled by Misbah. McCullum needed just 54 balls to score the century.

Khajuraho Dance Festival Begins in Madhya Pradesh

22.2.2016: 42nd Khajuraho dance festival began in Khajuraho, Madhya Pradesh. It is organized by Madhya Pradesh Cultural department. The world heritage attracts large number of foreign tourists and the festival is also popular worldwide. Classical dances such as Kathak, Odissi, Kuchipudi and Bharatanatyam will be showcased in the festival. Madhya Pradesh state fine arts awards were also given away on this occasion.

22.2.2016: Indian IT giant TCS is recognized as superbrand in UK for the year 2016. Super brad status is given based on an annual surgery. This branding is being given since 2001. TCBA organization conducted a survey and chosen TCS for this brand. Company head in UK Shankar Narayanan said they are very proud for this recognition and thanked the TCS partners, clients and 11,000 employees that work in UK.
