Rajan named the The Banker’s Central Banker of the Year

8.1.2016: Prestigious monthly magazine The Banker named Reserve Bank of India governor Raghuram Rajan as the Global and Asia Pacific Central Banker of the Year 2015.  The magazine said in its article about Rajan that he is chosen for stabilising the Indian rupee and to initializing key reforms to attract foreign capital.

Sailesh is the new Registrar General of Census Commissioner

8.1.2016: Sailesh is appointed as the new registrar general of census commissioner.  He is an IAS officer belonging to 1985 batch Assam Meghalaya cadre.  Prior to this appointment, he was serving as the additional secretary in home ministry.  He will succeed C Chandramouli whose tenure has completed. His appointment was approved by the Appointments committee of cabinet. He will continue in the post till July, 2017.

Amitabh Kant is CEO of NITI Aayog

8.1.2015: Amitabh Kant is appointed as the chief executive officer of NITI Aayog.  The appointments committee of the cabinet approved the appointment. He will succeed Sindhushree Khullar, whose tenure completed in December, 2015.  Amitabh belongs to 1980 IAS officers bats of Kerala cadre.  He is the Secretary in the Department of industrial Policy and Promotion in union Ministry of Commerce and Industry prior to this appointment.

New Chairman of Competition Commission of India is Devender Kumar Sikri

8.1.2016: Devender Kumar Sikri is going to succeed Ashok Chawla as the Chairman of fair-trade regulator competition commission of India.  Ashok Chawla is going to retire on January, 7the 2016.  Sikri will continue in the post for around two and half years.  He held various positions in Gujarat state and also in the world as secretary in union ministry of women and child development and so on. He was also the collector of Rajkot and Jamnagar.

Samir Cairae is the CEO of Vedanta’s India Metals Business

8.1.2016: Samir Caire is appointed as the chief executive officer of Vedanta. CEO of Vedanta Resources Pic Tom Albanese said that Samir Cairae will provide operational and strategic leadership for Vedanta and also handle commercial and asset optimisation function.
