Tata Motor Appoints Guenter Butschek as new CEO and MD

19.1.2016: Tata Motors Group, announced the appointment Gueneter Butschek as the new chief executive officer and managing director. The post is lying vacant for the last two years. Karl Slym was the last to hold the post and was expired in January, 2014. Guenter Butschek’s appointment comes into effect from 15th February. He is serving Airbus as the chief operating officer. Before this he was with Daimler AG for about twenty five years.

Tamal Chaudhuri is the Indian Head for Halo Source Inc.,

19.1.2016: Tamal Chaudhuri is appointed as the India Head operations for Halo Source Inc., He has rich experience in consumer durables industry in senior roles. Halo Sure recently signed supply agreements with Panasonic India. Chaudhuri obtained bachelor degree in statistics from Presidency College, Kolkatta. The company said in a statement that they are very happy to welcome Tamal into their company.

Amma Call Centre Launched in Tamil Nadu

19.1.2016: Tamil Nadu chief minister Jayalalitha launched amma call centre. The call center works all through the year and ensures quick response to grievances. People can dial 1100 which is a toll free number at any time in the day. They can register their details and can report their issues. The center is expected to handle nearly fifteen thousand calls per day. Special recruitments were made for this purpose. Presently 138 operators will be available.

Kolkata Book Fair to Begin on January 27

19.1.2016: International Kolkata Book Fair is all set to begin on 27th of this month. This is world’s largest non trade fair and large numbers of publishers and booksellers are expected to take part in the fair. This is the 40th edition of the fair. A heritage walk is going to be organized. A mobile app is also launched which can be downloaded and used to locate the book stalls. There are going to be around six hundred book stalls. Special arrangements for transport are made by introducing special buses and taxi aggregrator Ola.
