Lorenzo Natali Media Prize for Ankita Anand
16.1.2016: Delhi based writer Ankita Anand won the prestigious Lorenzo Natali Media Prize 2015 award. She won the award for her word title stirring beneath the Peepul which describes the life of young women facing threat of diktat in Haryana. The award is given to one winner per category per Africa, Arab world, Middle East, pacific, Latin America, Europe and Asia regions. The award carries a prize award of 5000 Euros.
Distinguished Academician of India M V Pylee Award for Dr Jancy James
16.1.2016: Jancy James, the women vice chancellor of Kerala was selected for Prof MV Pylee award for distinguished academician of India award. The award is given by Cochin University of science and technology. The award carried Rs. 1 lakh rupees cash prize and is given for contribution to academic community. Dr Jancy James is a critic, author, researcher and translator. She also served as vice chancellor for Mahatma Gandhi University.
The Hindu Prize 2015 for Eaterine Kire
16.1.2016: Eaterine Kire won The Hindu Prize for the year 2015. The novelist from Nagaland was chosen for this award for her novel ‘When the River Sleeps’. The book is about a hunter who searches for a heart stone and fights all odds to get it. Eaterine Kire is also a poet and a children’s writer.
Anil Gangulay, Bollywood Film Maker Passed Away
16.1.2016: National Award winner Anil Ganguly passed away. His popular movies include national award winners Kora Kagaz and Tapasya. He also made many notable films like Trishna, Humkadam, Pyar Ke Kabil, Bolidan in Bengali, Dushman Devata and so on.
Mahindra KUV100 Online Bookings on Flipkart
16.1.2016: Flipkart tied up with Mahindra to launch KUV100. The SUV can be now booked online exclusively on Flipkart. Flipkart automobiles category was launched in December, 2015. Flipkart Vice president-business Anil Goteti said that this tie up will allow customers the ease of booking Mahindra KUV100 online. SUV KUV100 is the first vehicle to include the first ground up petrol engine.
