Mireia Lalaguna Royo is Miss World 2015
20.12.2015: Mireia Lalaguna Royo from Spain won the Miss World 2015 title. She is 23 years old. She defeated Miss Russia to win the title in the event that was organized in China. Sofia Nikitchuk of Russia secured second place and Miss Indonesia Maria Harfanti was in the third place.
Rattan Lal Hangloo Appointed VC of Allahabad University
20.12.2015: Rattan Lal Hangloo is appointed as the new vice chancellor of Allahabad University. He is presently the vice chancellor of Kalyani University in West Bengal. Allahabad University is one of the oldest universities in India. It was established in the year 1887.
Dhoni to Lead Indian Team Till World T20 Championship
20.12.2015: MS Dhoni is going to be the captain of Indian team for the limited overs matches till World T20 championships. The event is going to be held in March next year. This was announced by the national selectors. BCCI Secretary Anurag Thakar announced this while announcing the team for Australia tour next month. There were rumors about Dhoni’s tenure ending as captain.
Police Officers Conference Inaugurated by Narendra Modi in Gujarat
20.12.2015: Prime Minister of India Narendra Modi inaugurated All India Conference of Directors General of Police in Gujarat. The conference is held for three days. Union minister for home Rajnath singh, Minister of state for home Kiran Rijju and Haribhai Patel will also participate in the conference.
Five New Districts in West Bengal
20.12.2015: West Bengal government approved the proposal for formation of five new districts. West Bengal presently has twenty districts and with the five new districts, the number increases to 25. State cabinet meeting headed by Mamata Banerjee took this decision. The new districts are Kalimpong, Sundarbans, Basirhat, Burdwan and Jhargam.

20.12.2015: 20th December is observed every as International Human Solidarity Day. A resolution was passed by UN General Assembly on 22nd December 2005 and decided to observe 20 December as International Human Solidarity Day.
