J M Sali, Indian Origin wins South East Asian Write Award 2015

14.12.2015: Jamaludeen Mohamed Sali, the Indian origin Tamil writer won the prestigious south East Asian Write Award for Singapore. The award will be handed over to him in Bangkok. The award for literary excellence will be given to him in a ceremony scheduled for 14th December.

Ahmad Javed Appointed the Ambassador to Saudi Arabia

14.12.2015: Mumbai police commissioner Ahmad Javed is appointed as the Ambassador to Saudi Arabia. This appointment was made by Ministry of external affairs.  The post was lying vacant since April this year when Hamid Ali was retired.  Ahmad Javed is an IPS officer of 1980 batch from Maharashtra cadre.  He will be retired as IPS officer on 31st January 2016.  He is the 20th Indian ambassador to Saudi Arabia and is the fourth IPs officer to become an ambassador.

Deborah Herold is the World no.4 Cyclist

14.12.2015: Indian cyclist Deborah Herold became the first Indian cyclist to be ranked World no.4.  She was ranked fourth in World Elite Women Ranking.  The rankings were issued by International Cycling Union.  Indian team is ranked 13th and is the highest ranking Asian country in 500m time trial.  China is in the 15th spot.

Elizabeth Susan Koshy won Gold in 59th National Shooting Championships

14.12.2015: Elizabath Susan Koshy won a gold medal at 59th National Shooting Championships in New Delhi. Silver medal was won by Anjum Moudgil and the bronze was won by Gaayathri N of Tamil Nadu.  Team gold was won by Maharashtra, silver medal was won by Railways and Bronze medal was won by Haryana in the event.

14.12.2015: Fifteen day event of 59th National Shooting Championships are going on in New Delhi.  Vijay Kumar won the centre fire pistol gold at the event that is being held in Tughlakabad.  Vijay Kumar won gold medal by scoring 588 points. He also won silver medal in 2012 Olympic that were held in London.
