Zarin Daruwala is the new CEO of Standard Chartered in India

17.11.2015: Standard Chartered announced the appointment of Zarin Daruwala as the new chief executive officer in India.  Prior to this appointment, he was with ICICI Bank Lt as the president of wholesale lending team.  Vishakha Mulye is appointed by the bank as executive director, Sunil Kaushal is appointed as regional chief for Africa and Middle East.

VHP Leader Ashok Singhal Passed Away

17.11.2015: Ashok Singhal, the Vishwa Hindu Parishad leader passed away at the age of 89. He breathed his last in Gurgaon. He was suffering from illness since a long time.  He served Hindu organization for more than two decades as the international working president.  Singhal was born on 15th September, 1926 in Agra.  He studied Metallurgical engineering in Benaras Hindu University.  He became an RSS pracharak after he graduated.

Chia Hung Lu Wins World Junior Badminton Championships

17.11.2015: World Junior Badminton Championships 2015 title is won by Chia Hung Lu of China.  Indian shuttler Siril Verma won the silver medal.  Verma also won the Badminton Asia Youth Championships in 2013 and is the first Indian player to win this.  Verma joined those who won medals at World Junior Championships that include Gurusaidutt, Saina Nehwal, PV Sindhu, Prannoy and Sameer Verma.

Nepal Football Chief Ganesh Thapa Banned by FIFA

17.11.2015: FIFA banned the Nepal football chief Ganesh Thapa for ten years on charges of corruption. Thapa is accused of accepting bribery from other football official and other acts of misconduct.  He is said to have received a gift of 100000 US dollars in 2009.  The money is found to be deposited in the bank account which is on Thapa’s son’s name.  Apart from the ban, Thapa is also fined for 20000 Swiss francs.

Mitchell Johnson Announces Retirement from International Cricket

17.11.2015: Mitchell Johnson, the fast bowler of Australia announced his retirement from international cricket.  He played 153 one day international matches and bowled more than 7066 balls.  He took 239 wickets in ODIs and 311 wickets in test crickets.
