Next Permanent Representative of India to UN is Syed Akbaruddin

16.11.2015: Syed Akbaruddin is appointed as the next permanent representative of India to UN. He will succeed Asoke Kumar Mukerji who was in the position since April 2014.  Akbaruddin belongs to Indian Foreign Service 1985 batch. He is presently serving as the Additional Secretary in external affairs ministry.

ICICI appointed  Vishakha Mulye as Executive Director

16.11.2015: Vishakha Mulye is appointed as the new executive director of ICICI.  She is presently serving as managing director and chief executive officer and she will continue to hold these position until another person is appointed.  Vishakha Mulye joined ICICI in 1993 and served in several positions such as chief financial officer at ICICI bank, managing director and CEO of ICICI venture funds Management Company and so on.

16.11.2015: Sundar Raman, the former Indian premier league chief operating officer is going to join Reliance Industries limited as the chief security officer – sports. This was announced by India’s leading sports business, Reliance Sports.  RIL is involved in cricket, football, tennis, golf and basketball.

Noted Bollywood Actor Saeed Jaffrey is no More

16.11.2015: Noted actor Saeed Jaffrey passed away at the age of 86. The films in which he acted include Shatranj Ke Khiladi, Ram Teri Ganga Maili and so on.  He was the first Indian actor to tour Shakespeare.  He won film fare award in supporting actor category, for his performance in the film Shatranj Ke Khiladi.

Silver Medal for Saina Nehwal at 2015 China Open

16.11.2015: Saina Nehwal, the Indian shuttler finished second at 2015 China Open Superseries Premier Badminton tournament. She won the silver medal at the event.  She was defeated by sixth ranker Xuerui Li from China in the final match that was played at Haixia Olympic Sports Centre in Fuzhou.  Both the players faced each other twelve times and Saina won only 2 times.  The tournament prize was USD 52.500 and the silver medal winner gets prize money of USD 26,600.
