7.10.2015: A R Rahman, the Indian composer is named the cultural ambassador for Seychelles. This news was shared by Rahman himself on Twitter. He also shared the certificate image on the micro blogging site. Rahman expressed his love and regards for the government and people of Seychelles.
Ashok Vemuri Resigned as CEO of iGate Corporation
7.10.2015: Ashok Vemuri, the chief executive officer of iGate Corporation resigned from his post. he was in this position since September 2013. Vemuri is a graduate in Physics from St Stephen College, Delhi and has done his masters in business management from IIM, Ahmadabad.
Nayantara Sahgal returns Sahitya Akademi Award
7.10.2015: protesting against the attack son India’s culture of diversity and debate, note writer Nayantara Sahgal returned her Sahitya Akademi award. She is the niece of India’s first prime minister Jawaharlal Nehru. Rationalists and writers MM kalburgi, Narendra Dabholkar and Govind Pansare were killed recently. After Nayantara Sehgal, it was the turn of note poet Ashok Vajpeyi to return the literary honor conferred on him.
Sergey Karjakin is the Winner of World Cup Chess Championship 2015
7.10.2015: Sergey Karjakin of Russia won the chess world championship 2015 held in Azerbaijan by defeating another chess master from Russia Peter Svidler. Both the players are now qualified for the 2016 Candidates Chess Tournament. Others who are qualified for the tournament are Viswanathan Anand of India, Fabiano Caruana and Hikaru Nakamura of America and Veseling Topalov of Bulgaria. The Candidates tournament begins in 2016. World cup is held every year and top chess players from the world participate in this. Sergey Karjakin is the holder of world’s youngest grandmaster record holder. He won three gold medals, two silver and a bronze at chess Olympiads.
KISAN project and hailstorm APP Launched by Union Government
7.10.2015: government of India launched KISAN project, Crop Insurance using Space Technology and Geoinformatics to help farmers in many ways. This program will be conducted by Mahalanobis National Crop Forecast Centre and Indian Space Research Organisation, India Meteorological Department, Agriculture and Food Security and so on.
