Dr Anup K Pujari is the New CMD of SAIL

3.10.2015:  Dr Anup K Pujari took charge as the chairman and managing director of Steel Authority of India Limited. He is the secretary in Ministry of Micro, Small and Medium Enterprises and SAIL post is an additional charge for him.

S Mookerjee Appointed as Financial Commissioner of Railways

3.10.2015: S Mookerjee is appointed as the new Financial Commissioner of Railways and Ex-officio Secretary. This was announced by the government of India.  He succeeds Rajalakshmi Ravi Kumar who retired. Prior to this appointment, he was the director general of National Academy of Indian Railway, Vadodara.  He belongs to Railway Accounts Service 1978 batch.

German Chancellor Angela Merkel to Visit India

3.10.2015: German Chancellor Angela Merkel is going to visit India on 5th October.  She will meet the prime minister of Indi, several higher officials, senior ministers and others to discuss trade related issues between the two countries.  The two countries are going to sign few agreements. German Chancellor will be in India for three days and she will meet women entrepreneurs in Delhi.

Harbhajan Singh Getting Married on October 29

3.10.2015: Indian star cricketer Harbhajan Singh is getting married to his lover, Bollywood heroine Geetha Basra on October 29.  Reception will be on November 1.  Wedding cards are also designed specially which were posted in twitter.  The marriage will be held in native village of Harbhajan Singh in a hotel.  The marriage will be held for five days.

Shashank Manohar to Become the BCCI President

3.10.2015: Shashank Manohar is going to be the new BCCI president.  Deadline for nominations ended and he is the only contestant in fray.  He will take his charge at Board’s special general meeting. He will succeed Jagmohan Dalmiya who passed away suddenly.

Sania – Hingis pair Lift Wuhan Open WTA Title

3.10.2015: Sania Mirza and Martina Hingis lift the Wuhan Open Double’s trophy.  They defeated the Romanian team of Irina and Camelia Begu. This is the seventh title that this pair won this year that include Indian Wells, Miami, Charleston, Wimbledon, the US open, Guargzhou and Wuhan.
