New York Global Leaders Dialogue Humanitarian Award for Bindeshwar Pathak

30.10.2015: Founder of Sulabh International, Bindeshwar Pathak is chosen for the New York Global Leaders Dialogue Humanitarian Award. He will receive the award on 12th April, 2016 in New York.  Bindeshwar founded Sulabh International Social Service Organization in the year 1970.

Sakharov Prize 2015 for Raif Badawi

30.10.2015: Raif Badawi, blogger from Saudi Arabia is chosen for the prestigious European Union’s Sakharov Prize for Human Rights 2015.  He was considered the symbol of fight for freedom of speech. He was honored with the award by European Parliament assembly.

Amit Kumar Wins Silver at Athletics World Championships

30.10.2015: Amit Kumar, the para athlete from India won a silver medal in men’s club throw F51 event in Athletic World Champioships which are being held in Doha.  He is now qualified to participate in 2016 Rio Paralympic Games.  Gold medal was won by Zeljiko Dimitrijevic of Serbia.  Milos Mitic won the bronze medal.  The Indian team ended with two silvers in the games. Other player who won a silver medal in Devendra Jhajharia. He won the medal in Javelin throw F46 event.

Sania, Hingis Enter Semi Final of WTC Tour Final Tourney

30.10.2015: Sania, Hingis duo entered the semi final of WTA Tour Final Tourney.  In the last Red Group league match, Sania and Hingis duo defeated Timia Babos and Christina by 6-4 and 7-5.  This is the 20th consecutive win for them.  They will face Chinese, Taipei duo in the semi final match.  Martina Hingis and Sania Mirza came together for the first time eight months ago.

Indian Badminton League Second Season to Begin on January 2, 2016

30.10.2015: Badminton Association of India announced that Indian Badminton League second season will be held between January 2 to 17.  Details of the tourney were announced by Akhilesh Das Gupta in the presence of national coach Pullela Gopichand, Srikant, Sindhu and Saina. Six teams will participate in the event.  Two franchises are already announced among the six.  Infinity solutions have taken the Delhi team and Lucknow Team is owned by Sahara Pariwar.
