Najib Shah Appointed the Chairman of CBEC
29.10.2015: Najib Shah, the senior IRS officer is appointed as the chairman of Central Board of Excise and Customs. His appointment is approved by the Appointments Committee of cabinet. Najib Shah belongs to the Indian revenue service 1979 batch. He was the member of CBEC since May this year. He also served Director of Revenue Intelligence as Director General.
Narendra Nayak Appointed MD of BlackBerry India
29.10.2015: Narendra Nayak is going to handle the software services business in India. He is appointed as the managing director of BlackBerry India and will replace Sunil Lalvani. He was with Linguanext Technologies before being appointed by BlackBerry India. He also served Motorola, CSC, IBM and Digital Equipment India.
John Magufuli is the new President of Tanzania
29.10.2015: John Magufuli won the presidential elections 2015 in Tanzania. He is the fifth president of the country since it got independence in the year 1961. John Magufuli won 58.46 votes. He defeated Edward Lowassa to win the elections.
Games Secretariat of 12th SAF Games 2016 Inaugurated
29.10.2015: Union minister of State for Youth Affairs and Sports, Sarbananda Sonowal inaugurated the Games Secretariat of 12th South Asian Federation Games 2016 in Meghalaya. 12th SAF games will be held in Guwahati and Shillong from 6th February to 16th February 2016. The Secretariat will work for the smooth functioning of the games.
Hockey India signed Partnership with SAI
29.10.2015: Hockey India signed three year memorandum of understanding with Sports Authority of India. This will help make hockey top sport of India, it is said. The two organizations will now work together to develop hockey coaching system, infrastructure and hockey coaching system. SAI will provide domestic coaches who are internationally recognized.
33 Percent Quota for Women in Govt Jobs Announced by Madhya Pradesh
29.10.2015: Madhya Pradesh government announced 33% reservation for women in government jobs. State cabinet has taken the decision in a meeting presided by Shivraj Singh Chouhan, the chief minister of the state. Presently the reservation quota for women is 30% and it is now increased to 33%.
