Kundhavi Kadiresan is the New Assistant Director General of FAO
15.10.2015: United National Food and Agriculture Organization and Regional representative for Asia and the Pacific, Director General Jose Graziano da Silva appointed Kundhavi Kadiresan as the Assistant Director of the organization. Kundhavi is an Indian national. She will succeed Hiroyuki Konuma who retired.
Shruti Hassan is the new Ambassador for Emami Kesh King
15.10.2015: Actress Shruti Hassan is the new brand ambassador for Emami Kesh King. Kesh King is an ayurvedic hair care brand and Shruti will endorse the product in southern markets. While Shruti is the brand ambassador for the product in Southern State, Juhi Chawla, who is the brand ambassador, will continue to endorse it in national level. This was announced by Emami in release. The product portfolio of Emami includes medicinal oil, shampoo and conditioner and ayurvedic capsules.
Tibetan Prime Minister Sangay Honoured with Presidential Medal for Promoting Peace
15.10.2015: Salisbury University in Maryland in US awarded presidential medal to Tibetan Prime Minister Lobsang Sangay for promoting peace. He was awarded with the medal on 14th October. He was born in Darjeeling, India in the year 1968 and became the prime minister of Tibetan government in Exile on 8th August, 2011. He also received Yong K Kim’95 prize of excellence in 2004.
Zaheer Khan Ends his 14 Year International Cricket Career
15.10.2015: Zaheer Khan, the Indian fast bowler announced his retirement from international cricket. Zaheer Khan is 37 year old and his international career continued for 14 years. He made his debut in 2000. In his 14 years career, he played 92 test matches and 200 ODI matches and also 17 T20 matches. He claimed 311 wickets in tests, 282 wickets in one day internationals and 17 wickets in T20 matches. He played his first test in 2000 against Bangladesh and his last match was against New Zealand in 2014.
DRDO Missile Complex Renamed After Dr APJ Abdul Kalam
15.10.2015: on the 84th birth anniversary of Abdul Kalam, the missile complex in Hyderabad is renamed after his name as Abdul Kalam Missile Complex. Dr Kalam joined DRDO in 1982 and served there for about twenty years.
