13.10.2015: Union finance minister Arun Jaitley is chosen as the finance minister of the year, Asia by emerging markets for the year 2015.  Emerging markets is a magazine based in London.

Marlon James Wins Man Booker Prize 2015 for Fiction

13.10.2015: Marlon James, well known Jamaican writer won the Man Booker Prize 2015 in fiction.  He was awarded the prize for his work A Brief History of Seven Killings.  He is the first Jamaican writer to win this award.  The award carried a cash prize of 50000 Euros and a trophy.  Other writers from the world who were shortlisted for the prize are Sunjeev Sahota, Chigozie Obioma, Anne Tyler and Chiegozie McCarthy.

Alexander Lukashenko Won Presidential Election of Belarus

13.10.2015: Belarusian Presidential elections were won by Alexander Lukashenko for the fifth time. The 61 year old presidential candidate won the election for the fifth time with over 83.5 percent of votes.  He was defeated by Tatiana Karatkevich. Among seven million registered voters, more than 5.1 million voters voted for Alexander Lukashenko.

Omid Kordestani is the New Executive Chairman of Twitter

13.10.2015: Twitter announced the appointment of Omid Kordestani as the new executive chairman.  Prior to this appointment, Omid was serving as chief business officer of Google.  Kordestani was with Google since 1999.

Shweta Wins Silver at Asian Body Building Championship

13.10.2015:  Shweta Rathore, Indian body builder became the first to win a medal at Asian Body Building championships. She won a silver medal at 49th Asian Championships that were held in Uzbekistan.  Shweta. An engineer by profession is now qualified to represent India in World Championships that are scheduled for November 2015 in Thailand.  She participated in many tournaments in the world.
