Neelesh Garg is the new MD and CEO of Tata AIG General Insurance
29.9.2015: Neelesh Garg is appointed by Tata AIG General Insurance company as the new managing director and chief executive officer. He will succeed K K Mishra who is going to retire in this month. Gard was with ICICI Lombard General insurance for the last 12 years and prior to this appointment he was the executive director of ICICI Lombard.
Indo British Van Driver Dee Patel honored with Pride of Britain Award
29.9.2015: Indo British van driver Dee Patel who risked his life to save others is honored with Pride of Britain award. He rescued a young woman who slumped unconscious over the steering wheel on M23 motorway. Pride of Britain awards were founded in 1999 by Peter Willis. The awards is given to those who show bravery in crisis situations.
Meghalaya governor Shanmuganathan Given Additional Charge as Governor of Manipur
29.9.2015: President Pranab Mukherjee appointed Governor of Meghalaya as the governor of Manipur. He was given additional charge as Syed Ahmed Khan, the former governor of Manipur suddenly passed away.
Water Evidence Found on Mars says NASA
29.9.2015: NASA declared that Mars Reconnaissance Orbiter provided an evidence that liquid water flows intermittently on Mars. Hydrated minerals were observed where mysterious streaks on seen on the marks. The streaks appear darker and to flow down during warm seasons. They fade away in cooler seasons.
Indian Railways Portal Launched
29.9.2015: Minister of Railways Suresh Prabhakar Prabhu launched the Indian Railway Knowledge Portal. The portal was launched from NAIR headquarter at Vadodara through video conferencing. It is possible to access existing libraries of railways from this portal. Information regarding rail museums, heritage, fan clubs and other details can be accessed from this portal.
29th September is World Heart Day
29.9.2015: 29th September of ever year is celebrated as World Heart day. World heart day was introduced in the year 2000. Heart diseases and stroke are leading causes of death in the world. Eighty percent of premature deaths from heart diseases can be avoided, it is said. World heart day creates awareness about this.
