23.9.2015: Hindi writer Dr Kamal kishore Goenka is conferred with Vyaas Samman for the year 2014. The award carries a cash prize of Rs. 2,5 lakhs and a citation. It was awarded to him by Hindi writer Professor Vishwanath Prasad Tiwari. He was awarded for his work Prem chand ki Kahaniyon ka Kaal Kramanusaar Adhyayan which is an analysis of Munshi Premchand’s work.
Lalita Prasida Sripad Srisai Wins Odhisha Community Impact Award
23.9.2015: The prestigious community impact award is won by Lalita Prasida Sripada Srisai at Google Science Fair in California. Lalita is a class 9 student and belongs to Odhisha state. She won the award for developing low cost water purifier. The award carries cash prize of 10000 US Dollars. Google will also provide support for her water purifier project for one year.
Global Leadership Awards for Indra Nooyi and Shobhana Bhartia
23.9.2015: Indra Nooyi Chairman of PepsiCo and Shobhana Bhatia Chairperson of HT Media won the global Leadership awards. The two were honored with the award for their contributions and commitment and their roles as leaders. They were introduced at USIBC Leadership Summit.
Zayn Khan is the new President of Federation of Motor Sports Clubs of India
23.9.2015: Zayn Khan is elected as the president of Federation of Motor Sports clubs in India. He succeeded R Bharath Raj who passed away in August this year. Zayn Khan is from Hyderabad and represents Western India Automobile Association. He has many years of experience in motor sports.
Marathi Film Court is Official Entry for Best Foreign Film Category at Oscars
23.9.2015: National Award winning movie Court is selected to represent India in the best foreign film category at Oscar 2016. The movie is directed by new comer Chaitanya Tamhane and is the story of a folk singer. The movie beat other popular films in the race such as PK, Bajrangi Bhaijaan, Bahubali and others. The movie is selected by a 17 member jury headed by Amol Palekar.
