P Siva Kumar Elevated a Distinguished Scientist by Union Ministry of Defense

21.9.2015: P Siva Kumar is elevated as the distinguished scientist or scientist H.  This is the highest honor for any scientist in India. This honor was given to him by Union Ministry of defense. Siva Kumar is the director of Combat vehicles Research and Development Establishment located in Tamil Nadu.

Sherif Ismail Sworn in as Prime Minister of Egypt

21.9.2015: Egypt is going for parliament elections in December this year.  Ibrahim Mahlab, who was the prime minister of the country resigned in September on charges of corruption. Sherif Ismail is sworn in as the president now and he will be in power till the next government will take charge. This is the seventh government in country since 2011.

Shamim Hanif Honored with Jnangarima Manad Alankaran Award

21.9.2015: Urdu scholar Shamim Hanfi was awarded the Jnangarima Manad Alankaran for the year 2015. This award is given by Bharatiya Jnanpith.   The award was announced to him at Kavita Samay, where Hindi and Urdu poets recite poetry. Shamim penned many books such as Ghazal ka Naya Manzarnama, Infiradi Shaoor aur Ijtemai Zindagi and Falsafiyani.

Viola Davis Wins Best Actress Emmy Award

21.9.2015: Viola Davis became the first African American to win the best actress award at Emmy. She won the award in a drama category.  She played the role of a defense lawyer in How to Get Away with Murder. She won SAG award for her role as the lawyer and is also nominated for Golden Globe.

Ajay Jayram won Silver Medal in Korea Open Badminton Tournament

21.9.2015: Ajya Jayaram, Indian badminton player won a silver medal in the final of Korea Open Badminton tournament in men’s singles category. He was defeated by world no. 1 Chen Long of China. He lost the match by 14-21, 12-21.  He is the first Indian to win a medal at Korea Open Badminton tournament. Ajay Jayaram stands at 32nd position in badminton men’s singles world ranking.
