20.9.2015: President of Board of Control of Cricket in India, Jagmohan Dalmiya is no more.  He suffered chest pain and was admitted into BM Birla Hospital.  He was 75.  Dalmiya joined BCCI in the year 1979 and his contribution in making BCCI one of the wealthiest cricket boards in the country is great.  He played a major role in bringing World cups to sub continent in 1987 and 1996.  He became the BCCI president for the second time only few months ago.

Novelist Jackie Collins is No More

20.9.2015: Noted Novelist Jackie Collins passed away at the age of 77 years. She was British born writer and the sister of Joan Collins, the actress.  Almost all the novels of Jackie Collins were bestsellers.  She was suffering from breast cancer.  She began writing stories in the school days. Her first novel was The world is full of Married Men.  Her other popular novels include Hollywood Wives which was made into a series by ABC.

Indian Shuttler Ajay Jayaram Won Silver Medal in Korea Open Super Series

20.9.2015: Indian shuttle Ajay jayaram won silver medal at Korea Open Super Series. He faced world no. 1 Chen Long of China in the final match, which he lost by 14-21, 13-21.  His dream run ended in a disappointment. However his performance at the event is appreciated by all.

Life Membership of ICC for Ajinkya Rahane

20.9.2015: Ajinkya Rahane, the Indian batsman is honored with life membership by Cricket Club of India.  CCI president Kekoo Nicholson, Sevanti Parikh and others were present at the event. Rahane now joins the list of sportspersons who are conferred with CCI membership. Other noted names in the list are Sunil Gavaskar, Viv Richards, Geet Sethi, Muttaih Muralidharan and MS Dhoni.

Indira Gandhi International Airport Awarded the best Airport for 2013-14

20.9.2015: Indira Gandhi International Airport of Delhi won the Best Airport Award for the year 2013-14.  The award was presented by President of India, Pranab Mukherjee.  The award is a part of national tourism awards.  Best airport is decided based on seven parameters such as infrastructure, eco friendly practices, nearest city center and facilities for physically challenged persons.
