GoAir new Chief Financial Officer is Krishnan Balakrishnan
17.9.2015: Krishnan Balakrishnan joined GoAir as the new Chief Financial Officer. He is earlier the vice president for fleet and management control in Jet Airways. He succeeds Siddhartha Datta who left GoAir. GoAir announced the appointment of Krishnan Balakrishnan who also looked at aircraft acquisition, leasing, tax issues and negotiations of Jet Airways before becoming the vice president.
UNHCR Awards Aqeela Asifi, Afghan Refugee Teacher
17.9.2015: Afghan refugee teacher Aqeela Asifi is honored with Nansen Refugee award 2015. This is awarded to her recognizing her dedication to bring education to refugee girls in Pakistan. Aqeela guided large numbers of refugee girls though primary education. Asifi fled from Kabul in 1992 and is now at Kot Chandana.
Nana Patekar Established Naam Foundation to Help Farmers
17.9.2015: Actor Nana Patekar established Naam foundation, to provide the farmers aid to overcome draught conditions. Marathi actor Makrand Anaspure is also part of this. The foundation will collect donations from people and will provide money to the needy farmers. A state bank of India accounted is opened n which people who want to help can deposit the money.
Manpreet Kaur Breaks Shot Putting National Record
17.9.2015: Manpreet Kaur broke the 18 year old shot put national record of Harbans Kaur of throwing 17.43 metres. Manpreet Kaur won the 55th National open Athletics Championship by throwing 17.96 metres. This is her second gold medal and hat trick title at national open. Manpreet Kaur also qualified for Rio 2016 Olympics.
India Cements won Moin-ud Dowlah Gold Cup Tournament 2015-16
17.9.2015: Moin-ud Dowlah Gold Cup Tournament 2015-16 winners are India Cements. They defeated Hyderabad XI team in a match that was played at Rajiv Gandhi International Cricket Stadium in Hyderabad. This is the third title for India Cements team. The trophy and other awards were handed over to the winners by ICC president Zaheer Abbas. Moin-ud-Dowlah Gold Cup Tournament is held in 1930-31 for the first time. It is held every year in September in Hyderabad and Secunderabad and is organized by Hyderabad Cricket Association.
