Atul Keshap Confirmed as US ambassador to Sri Lanka
6.8.2015: Atul Kashyap, the Indian American is confirmed as the US ambassador to Sri Lanka and Maldives. Keshap is appointed by the US Senate. He is the former official at US Embassy in India and is presently serving as Deputy Assistant Secretary of state in South and central Asian Affairs Bureau of State Department.
Ashish Dasgupta Takes Over as ED of Air India Engineering Services
6.8.2015: Ashish Dasgupta took over as the new ED of air India Engineering Services. He took charge at New Delhi headquarters. He was serving as General Manager, Engineering at Hyderabad. He joined Indian Airlines in 1981 as AME trainee. He is a qualified air craft maintenance engineer.

6.8.2015: Amitabh Bachchan, Salman Khan and Akshay Kumar are among the Indian actors figures in Forbes World’s Highest Paid actors list. The list is topped by Rober Downey Jr and his earnings are said to be $80 million. Jackie Chan is in the second position and Vin Diesel is in third position.
Colonel Harwant Singh, World War II Hero Passed Away
6.8.2015: Colonel Harwant Singh World War II hero passed away. He was 95. He was awarded the Military Cross which is the highest award of British Army in 1944 for his bravery. He was commissioned in 2n battalion of Sikh Regiment.
World Observes Hiroshima Day
6.8.2015: The world observed the70th anniversary of Hiroshima Day on August 6. On 1945 this day, US bombed the Hiroshima, the Japanese city that left more than 80,000 people dead. The aftereffects of the nuclear radiation is still haunting thousands of people here.
4G services Launched by Airtel in 296 Towns
6.8.2015: Telecom service provider Airtel launched its 4G services in 296 towns in the country. The company MD and CEO said that this is a small step to be the most innovative and customer focused brand. Other telecom companies including Idea Cellular, Reliance are also introducing 4G services by the end of this year.
