Vince Chhabria Appointed the Full Time Federal Judge
25.8.2015: President Barack Obama appointed Indian American Vince Chhabria as full time federal judge of California court. He is the first Indian American to be appointed federal judge of Bay Area. Vince Chhabria is a honors graduate from California University. He was working in private sector earlier to this appointment.
Zaina Erhaim Honored with Peter Mackler Award 2015
25.8.2015: Woman journalist of Syria Zaina Erhaim is awarded the Peter Mackler Award 2015 for courageous and ethical journalism. The woman journalist trained around 1—ctitizen reporters in Syria in print and TV journalism. Peter Mackler award was founded in 2008 in honor of Peter Mackler, an ethical journalist.
Justice ML Tahaliyani is the new Lokayukta of Maharashtra
25.8.2015: Justice Madanlal Laxmandas Tahaliyani is sworn in as the new Lokayukta of Maharastral. He took oath at Raj Bhavan Darbar hall in Mumbai. It was administered by Vidyasagar Rao, the governor of Maharashtra. High profile trails that he administered earlier include 26/11 attacks, Gulshan Kumar murder and so on. Justice Madanlal studied law in Nagpur. He served as judge of Bombay City Civil Court, Registrar high court of Bombay, 1st Additional principal judge and metropolitan magistrate.
Raipur to Host FIH Hockey World League Final
25.8.2015: Raipur, the capital city of Chhattisgarh will host the final match of FIH Hockey League 2015. This announcement was made by International Hockey federation president Leandro Negre few days ago. Raipur international hockey stadium has a capacity of nearly 3000. The participants of this league ware Argentina, Belgium, Great Britain, Australia, Canada, Germany, Netherlands and India.
Oldest Urdu Copy of Ramcharitmanas Found in New Delhi
25.8.2015: Urdu copy of Shri Ramcharitmanas written by Shiv Brat Lal is found in New Delhi. The copy written in 1904 by Shiv Brat Lal, a resident of Bhadohi district was found in the scrap market at hurz Khas in the capital city of India. The Urdu copy contains 20 pages of preface and also hand draw photographs depicting the images of Ram, Sita, Laxman and Hanuman along with Brahma, Vishnu and Mahesh. The copy was found by the team of Sankat Mochan temple.
