RS Sharma Appointed TRAI Chairman

27.07.2015:  R S Sharma is appointed as the new chairman of Telecom Regulatory Authority of India.  He is the IAS officer from 1978 batch of Jharkhand cadre and is presently working as the IT Secretary.  He will succeed Rahul Kullar who retired as TRAI chairman in May this year.  Sharma played a crucial role in Aadhar project implementation and design.  He also designed various digital services that include digital locker, digitize India and so on.

APJ Abdul Kalam Passed Away in Shillong

27.08.2015: Former president APJ Abdul Kalam passed away at the age of 84.  He was the 11th president of India between 20002 and 2007.  He was delivering a speech at IIM, Shillong and suddenly collapsed due to cardiac arrest. He was immediately shifted to the hospital and treated in ICU.  He breathed his last at around 7.45 in the hospital.  He was honored with Padma Vibhushan and Bharat Ratna.  He played a crucial role in the development of Agni and Prithvi and the brain behind India’s missile programs.

Nuclear Disarmament Advocate PR Chari is No More

27.07.2015: Nuclear disarmament advocate and co founder of Institute for Peace and Conflict studies PR Chari passed away at the age of 79.  He served as an IAS officer and retired in 1992.  He then wrote on subject of disarmament.

Sebastian Vettel won Hungarian Grand Prix 2015

27.07.2015: Sebastian Vettel of Germany won the Hungarian Grand Prix of Formula One. This Ferrari driver is four time world champion.  This win is his 41st win in the career.  Daiil Kvyat stood n second position and Daniel Ricardo was third.  He dedicated his title to Jules Bianchi a French driver who died at 25 years of age.

Terrorists Attack Moving Bus in Punjab

27.07.2015: Three armed terrorist attacked a moving bus in Punjab and also a police station in Dina Nagar.  The terrorists were in army uniforms and they killed an SP and left few other persons injured in Gurdaspur.  Police killed all the three terrorists in the operation.
