28.06.2015: Basketball Player born in India, Satnam Singh Bharmara is chosen by Dallas Mavericks Team as the 52nd pick. He became the first Indian born player to be drafted by NBA team. He was selected from 60 young men. He will play in the next season of National Basketball Association.

Jwala and Ashwini enter the Women’s Doubles Final of Canada Open

28.06.2015: Jwala and Ashwini pair entered the final of women’s double final of Canada Open badminton tournament. They defeated Shiho Tanaka and Koharu Yonemoto of Japan to enter the final. They will play the final with Selena Piek and Eefje Muskens of Dutch. This Indian pair won silver medal at Common Wealth Games and are ranked world no. 13.

Chennai Metro Rail Service Inauguration on 29th June

28.06.2015: Chief Minister of Tamil Nadu, Ms Jayalalitha will flag off the Chennai Metro Rail Passenger Service. The first phase of the project from Alandrur to Koyambedu will be launched by the government via video conference. This is a 14000 crore project. This stretch which is going to be inaugurated today has five stations and will stop for 30 seconds in each station. The air conditioned coaches were manufactured by Alstom. Each train will carry 1276 passenger and the seating capacity is 276.

Narendra Modi Concerned Over declining Sex Ratio in India

28.06.2015: Prime Minister of India, Narendra Modi expressed concern over the declining sex ratio in the country. He was on Mann Ki Baat programme on radio. He mentioned the Beti Bachao, Beti Padao schema and also other three social security schemes introduced by the government. He appreciated the Selfie with Daughter competition initiated by Bibipur village Sarpanch Sunil Jaglan.

Andhra Pradesh Government to For Cabinet Sub-Committee Krishi Cabinet

28.06.2015: Andhra Pradesh government will form a subcommittee to focus on challenges of primary sector mission to make agriculture profitable and sustainable. The subcommittee is going to be named Krishi Cabinet. The decision was taken at a meeting chaired by AP chief minister Chandrababu Naidu.
