Sir Wesley Winfield Hall Inducted into ICC Cricket Hall of Fame

13.06.2015: Former West Indies fast bowler Wesley Winfield Hall is inducted into the ICC Cricket Hall of Fame. He is the 18th cricketer from west indies and 80th cricketer to be inducted. Wesley Hall played 48 tests during 1958 to 1969. He took 192 wickets. He played 170 first class matches in his career and claimed 546 wickets. He retired from cricket after the Australia, New Zealand tour in 1968-69. Hall was born on 12th September 1937 in Barbados. His career in cricket stared in 1957 when he was selected for tour of England.

World Day Against Child Labor Observed

13.06.2015: World day against child labor is observed every year on 12th June to draw attention to the actions needed to eliminate the child labor problems. International Labor Organization ILO launched this in 2002. On this day the plight of child laborers in the world is highlighted.

Telangana Government Unveiled the Telangana Industrial Policy 2015

13.06.2015: Government of Telananga unveiled the Telangana Industrial Policy 2015. It was unveiled by K Chandrasekhar Rao, the chief minister of the state. This is aimed to improve industrial activity and employment opportunities in the state. Mega industrial projects will be given clearance in just two weeks through a single window clearance system. Single common online application form is only needed to be filled by the entrepreneurs. Twenty four hours power supply will be provided. A nodal officer is also appointed to supervise matters related industrial approval and establishment.

Sangeet Natak Akademi Fellowships and Puraskar 2014 Announced

13.06.2015: Sangeet Natak Akademi Fellowships are a rare honor given to a small group at a given time for performing arts. This is the highest government of India honor in performing arts. For 2014, musicologist SR Janakiraman, film maker MS Sathyu and classical singer Vijay Kichlu are among who are selected for the prestigious natak akademi fellowships.
