Irwin Rose, Nobel Prize Winner in Chemistry Passed Away

05.06.2015: Irwin Rose, who shared Nobel Prize with Aaron Ciechanover and Avram Hershko in 2004, passed away at the age of 88. He was born in Brooklyn. He earned his doctorate at university of Chicago in 1952. He spent most of his career at Fox Chase Cancer Centre in Philadelphia as research scientist.

Saina Nehwal Enters Women’s Singles Quarterfinals

05.06.2015: Saina Nehwal of India entered the women’s singles quarter finals of Indonesia open. The ace shuttler from India defeated her Chinese opponent Hsu Ya Ching and confirmed her place in quarter finals. Saina will face Shinxian Wang of China in the quarter finals.

AB De Villiers is the South Africa Cricketer of the Year 2015

05.06.2015: AB De Villiers is conferred the South Africa Cricketer of the year 2015 award. This is the second year that he received this award. De Villiers won several awards this year including the SA Players’ Player of the year, SA Fans’ Player of the year, Castle Lager ODI Cricketer of the year and KFC So Good Award.

Nestle Pulls of Maggi Noodles from Shelves in India

New Delhi: Nestle withdrew its instant food Maggi from most of the Indian markets. Maggi was banned in several states of India. It was reported that central Maggi contains high levels of lead and MSG. Nestle said in a statement that Maggi is completely safe but with recent developments and unfound concern they are pulling their popular instant noodles off the shelves in India.

Delhi Metro Received First Driver-Less Train

05.06.2015: Delhi metro received a driver-less train from Korea based manufacturer. Delhi metro is the first to introduce this train in its phase-III by December 2016. The train will run with a speed of 85 kmph and the maximum speed is 95 kmph. The train is more energy efficient as it comes with regeneration of energy during braking, LED lighting and other features.

5th June is World Environment Day

05.06.2015: World Environment Day is observed on 5th June every year. World Environment Day 2015 celebrations are being held in Italy and will continue till 31st of October this year. More than 140 countries are participating in these celebrations. United Nations environment Programme initiated this day to increase global awareness and to protect nature and earth.
