Suzuki Motorcycles launched GSX – S1000 and GSX – S1000F for Rs. 12.25 lakhs and Rs. 12.7 lakhs in India

The Japanese automotive giant Suzuki Motorcycle India has launched two new higher end super bikes in the Indian market. The 1000 CC variants of the Gixxer series have been introduced into the Indian market as ‘GSX - S1000’ and ‘GSX – S1000F’ respectively. The former has been priced for Rs. 12.25 lakhs in India whereas the faired edition has been priced for Rs. 12.7 lakhs.

The brand new GSX – S1000 measures around 2115 mm of length, 795 mm of width and 1080 mm of height respectively along with a larger wheelbase of around 1460 mm. S1000F is almost as same as that of the non fairing version but the height of the bike is around 100 mm more than the former. Some of the exclusive features of the new GSX – S series bikes include three mode traction control system with switch, lighter chassis and brand new instrument cluster display etc. The suspension needs are fulfilled by 43 mm inverted KYB telescopic forks at the front and a mono shock at the rear. Both the wheels get fitted with mono block brembo brakes.

Suzuki Gixxer GSX - S1000

Mr. Atul Gupta, the Executive Vice President for Suzuki Motorcycle India has stated in connection with the launch “The GSX – S1000 is a naked roadster with an aggressive look, while the GSX – S1000F is its fully faired sibling. Their super sport genes deliver smooth, controlled handling and dynamic acceleration. We are launching these models globally and in India at the same time so that Indian motorcycle enthusiasts can lay their hands on the latest, top of the line Suzuki products. These motorcycles cater to the rider who wants a performance street motorcycle. These sports roadsters have expanded our already diverse big motorcycle lineup”.

Both the motorcycles get powered with a 999 CC DOHc liquid cooled engine that churns out around 146 PS power at the peak along with 106 Nm of torque. Engine comes mated to a 6 speed gear box and it is reported to be one of the quickest in the segment.
