Charlie Hebdo Wins PEN Freedom of Expression Courage Award 2015

07.05.2015: Charlie Hebdo, a French Satirical Magazine won the disputed PEN Freedom of Expression courage award 2015 in New York.  The office of Charlie Hebdo was attacked after it published some drawing of Prophet Muhammad.

Manish Sinha of HSBC is New India Head of Equifax

07.05.2015: Manish Sinha is appointed as the new MD and India country head of Equifax.  This is a joint venture of seven domestic financial institutions and USA based Equifax.  Sinha is presently the head of consumer assets and customer value management of retail banking in HSBC.

Myntra Acquires Native5 Mobile App Development Platform

07.05.2015: Myntra, fashion and lifestyle products, e-commerce site acquired Native5 which is a mobile app development platform.  Native5 was founded in 2012. The team of Kunal Abhishek, Baradu Sahu and Shamik Dattanand will also join Myntra.  Myntra acquired Fitiquette, a technology solution company in April 2013.

Geeta Phogat Wins Bronze at Senior Asian Wresting Championship

07.05.2015: Geeta Phogat won the bronze medal in women’s freestyle 58 kg category at Senior Asian Wresting Championship being held in Doha.  Geeta Phogat defeated Thi Lon Bguyen of Vietnam and stood in the third position, informed Wresting Federation of India.  Meanwhile other Indians Rahul Balasaheb Aware and Rajneesh Dalaal along with Somveer crashed out of the tournament.

Ping Pay Services Launched by Axis Bank

07.05.201: Axis Bank launched Ping Pay service that allows instant transfer of money via mobile phone.  This is similar and competes with the likes of ICICI bank’s Pockets and HDFC’s Chillar. The transaction limit on Ping Pay service is Rs. 50,000 per day.  Customers can transfer money via Whatsapp, Facebook, Email list of Twitter.

President of India Pranab Mukherjee’s Five Days Visit to Russia

07.05.2015: President of India Pranab Mukherjee left for five day tour to Russia.  He will participate in the celebrations of 70th anniversary of Russia’s victor in Second World War.  He is going to receive honorary doctorate from Diplomatic Academy of Russia.
