Pacquiano Defeated by Mayweather in Welterweight Title

03.05.2015: American boxer Floyd Mayweather Jr defeated Pacquiano to win the World Welter weight title. Pacquiano belongs to Philippines. Mayweather, 38 retained his title by winning 116-112 scores from two judges. This is the 57th victory for Pacquiao. The boxing fight was the most lucrative with over $400 million revenues.

Rafael Nadal Received Golden Medal for Merit in Work of Spain

03.05.2015: Tennis player Rafael Nadal received golden Medal for Merit in world of Spain. This is the highest civilian honor of Spain. The medal was presented to him by Spain Prime Minister Mariano Rajoy Brey. Rafael won 14 Grand Slam singles champions. He won the French Open for nine times which is a record. He is presently the world number 5 player.

President Pranab Mukherjee Presented 62nd National Film Awards

03.05.2015: President of India Pranab Mukherjee presented the 62bd National Film Awards in a ceremony in New Delhi. The best actress award was presented to Kangana Ranaut for her film Queen. Vijay Kumar B won the Best Actor award for Nanu Avanalla Avalu. Sashi Kapoor is chosen for Dada Saheb Phalke award.

12 Crore Rupees Allocated to Project Great Indian Bustard

03.05.2015: Rajasthan government allocated twelve crore rupees for conversation of Indian Bustard. Project Great Indian Bustard tries to preserve the state bird of Rajasthan Indian Bustard. The allocated funds will be used to made closure at many places in various districts of Rajasthan and also information chips will be installed to regularly monitor the birds.

World Press Freedom Day Observed

03.05.2015: World Press Freedom Day is observed on every 3rd of May across the globe. This year, the theme of the day is Let Journalism Thrive! Towards better reporting, gender equality and media safety in the digital age. World Freedom Day was proclaimed by UN General Assembly in 1991.

World’s Largest Solar Photovoltaic Plant to be set up in Rewa, Madhya Pradesh

03.05.2015: Madhya Pradesh government approved to build 750 megawatt soar photovoltaic plant in Rewa district in Madhya Pradesh. The plant is likely to be completed by March 2017 and start generating electricity from the sun. Estimated cost of the project is 4500 crore rupees.
