VA Prasanth is the new CFO of Indian Bank
29.05.2015: VA Prasanth is appointed as the new chief financial officer of Indian Bank. He was earlier serving as General Manager of Indian Bank. He is appointed to succeed Srinivasa Raghavan. Indian Ban has 2412 branches and India and has more than 20000employees. The bank also has overseas branches in Sri Lanka and Singapore.
David Back, Zoomcar Co-Founder Resigned
29.05.2015: Co-founder of Zoomcar, David Back resigned from his post. However, it is revealed that he will continue to hold his take in the company. He was looking after the business development and marketing division of the company. Zoomcar India Pvt Ltd is a self-drive car rental company. It was launched in 2012. It operated 12pp self-drive rental cars and the services were planned to expand to ten more cities in the coming months. Presently, the company is offering its services in Bengaluru where it started its services first, Pune and Delhi.
Oxford University Award for Gurnimarat Nimmy Sidhu
29.05.2015: Indian origin teacher Gurnimarat Nimmy Sidhu is named for University of Oxford Inspirational Teacher award. Gurnimarat is working as the head of science at Oaks Park High School in London. She was chosen for this award to encourage her student to get into world’s prestigious university. A total of twelve teachers received this award.
Yaduveer Krishnadatta chamaraja Crowned 27th Maharaja of Mysuru Kingdom
29.05.2015: Twenty two year old Yaduveer Krishnadatta Chamaraja is crowned as the 27th Maharaja of Mysuru kingdom. A grand ceremony took place in Durbar hall at Amba Vilas Palace in Mysuru. More than 1000 special invitees were attending the ceremony including former prime minister of India Deve Gowda. Others present were KF George, RV Deshpande, Y Bhaskar Rao and Roshan Baig. Srikantadatta Narasimharaja Wodeyar was the 26th Maharaja and was crowned at the age of 21.
Abhinav Bindra Qualified for 2016 Rio Olympics
29.05.2015: Indian shooter and winner of Olympic gold medal, Abhinav bindra qualified for Rio Olympics that are to be held in 2016. He is the fourth Indian shooter to won a berth in Rio Olympics. This is the fifth consecutive time that he is representing India in Olympic Games. Other shooters who are qualified are Gagan Narang, Apurvi Chandea and jitu Rai.
