Jayalalaitha Took Oath as Chief Minister of Tamil Nadu

23.05.2015: AIADMK chief J Jayalalitha took oath as the chief minister of Tamil Nadu. This is for the fifth time that she became the chief minister of the state. Along with her, 28 ministers also took oath. She resigned as the chief minister when she was convicted in disproportionate properties case by a Karnataka court. Recently Karnataka high court acquitted her. She is the 18th chief minister of Tamil Nadu. She replaces Paneerselvam who resigned on May 21.

Chairman of Murugappa Group Corporate Board Resigned

23.05.2015: A Vellayan, the chairman of Murugappa group corporate board has resigned. Securities and Exchange Board of India on 21st issued an order linking A Vellayan to trades of Sabero Organics Gujarat Ltd.

Parvinder Singh Batth is the new Mayor of Britain’s Wokingham Borough Council

23.05.2015: Parvinder Singh Batth, the Indian origin councillor is chosen as the new mayor of Britain’s Wokingham Borough Council. He is the first Sikh to be selected for this position.

G Mohan Kumar is the Secretary of Ministry of Defence

23.05.2015: Appointment committee of Cabinet approved the appointment of G Mohan Kumar as the Secretary of Ministry of Defence. This decision was taken by the committee in a meeting headed by PM Narendra Modi. Mohan Kumar will be in office for two years and is succeeding Radha Krishna Mathur who is going to retire on May 28.

Doordarshan’s Kishan TV to be launched on May 26 by Narendra Modi

23.02.2015: Prime Minister Narendra Modi is going to launch Doordarshan’s Kisan TV on May 26. The day is also the first anniversary of NDA government. Arun Jaitley has announced in his budget speech in 2014 that a TV channel dedicated to farmers will be launched soon for which Rs. 100 crore were allotted.

IPS 8 Final to Be Played on 24th May between Chennai Super Kings and Mumbai Indians

23.05.2015: Chennai Super Kings defeated Bangalore team to reach the final of IPL 8 and the final is going to be played on 24th May, Sunday. The venue of the game is Eden Gardens in Kolkata. Chennai and Mumbai won the title one time each earlier.
