Volvo V40 Cross Country Petrol variant launched – Priced Rs. 27 lakhs to beat BMW 1 Series and Mercedes Benz A Class

Volvo has introduced petrol variant of the V40 Cross Country in the Indian market and the new breed offers a bunch of exclusive features as well. The manufacturer is currently selling V40 Cross Country Diesel for a starting price of Rs. 32 lakhs in the domestic market whereas the newly added Petrol variant has been priced for Rs. 27 lakhs only. The competitive price tag of the model is expected to be highly effective against Mercedes Benz A Class in India.

The front fascia of the new V40 Cross Country comes with the signature matte black honey comb grille along with a lot of chrome surrounding it. The front bumper is much attractive than most of its rivals and the set of LED day time running lights adds to the elegance of the vehicle as well. The hatchback comes powered with a 1.6 litre four cylinder T4 Gasoline turbo charged direct injection engine that is capable of churning out around 180 HP power at the peak along with 240 Nm of torque. Volvo has claimed that Petrol powered V40 cross Country is capable of attaining 100 kmph speed from rest within just 8.5seconds only. It is also reported that the new hatch is capable of delivering around 16 kmpl mileage on an average and the top speed of the vehicle is nearly 210 kmph.

Electronic Climate Control and Electric Power Assisted Steering are some of the significant features of V40. Mr. Thomas Ernberg, the Managing Director for Volvo Auto India has stated in connection with the launch of the new V40 Cross Country “We are excited to bring the petrol variant of V40 Cross Country to India. Buoyed by the growing acceptance of V40 Cross Country since June 2013 when we launched it here, we have now decided to bring in the petrol variant at a very competitive pricing in order to increase our reach further. I believe our customers would be enthralled with this new car”.
