Mohammed Bin Nayef is the Crown Prince of Saudi Arabia

29.04.2015: Saudi Arabia king Salman Bin Abdulaziz al-Saud is appointed as crown prince of the country. He was the Interior Minister of the kingdom earlier. Adel al-Jubeir the ambassador of Saudi Arabia was appointed as Foreign Minister in place of Saud al-Faisal. Khalid al-Falih is appointed as Health Minister.

Siddhartha Gigoo wins Commonwealth Short Story Prize 2015

29.04.2015: Siddhartha Gigoo won the 2015 Commonwealth Short Story Prize in Asia region for his novel Umbrella Man. The grand prize will be announced in London on 8th September 2015. He was born in 1974and studied English Literature at Jawaharlal Nehru University.

Shamkir Chess Tournament Won by Magnus Carlsen

29.04.2015: World champion Magnus Carlsen of Norway won the prestigious Shamkir Chess Tournament title. He defeated Azerbaijani Rauf Mamedov to become the winner of the title. With this win he earned 13 ELO points and topped the world ranking with 2875 points. He won the title for the second time in a row.

BCCI Bans Sunil Narine’s Off-spinners Bowling

29.04.2015: Board of Control of Cricket in India, BCCI banned the West Indies player Sunil Narine from bowling off-spinners in IPS matches and also all the other matches of BCCI. He can continue to bowl other deliveries such as knuckle ball and straight ball. His Doosra was also banned by BCCI during 2014 Champion League T20 and was also banned from playing the finals of the tournament.

Senior Men’s National Hockey Championship won by Railways

29.04.2015: Railways defeated the Uttar Pradesh team in the final of senior men’s National Hockey Championship and won the title. Air India Sports Promotion Board is in the third position by defeating Hockey Gangpur-Odhisha.

Punjab National Bank Implements Sukanya Samriddhi Scheme

29.04.2015: Punjab National Bank started implementing the Sukanya Samriddhi Scheme that was launched by prime minister of India Narendra Modi in January this year. Punjab National Bank is the first to implement this scheme. This is a girl child scheme open to girls below 10 years and the government is allowing grace period of one year. More than two lakh Sukanaya accounts were opened in post offices till now.
