28.04.2015: Raja Rajeswari is appointed as the criminal court judge in New York. She is the first woman Indian-American to be appointed a judge in New York. Born in Chennai she migrated to US many years ago. She is appointed by New York mayor Bill de Blasio. Tenure of judges in New York is ten years.

Yashwant Sinha honored with Officier de la Legion d’Honneur

28.04.2015: Yashwant Sinha is honored by French government with Officier de la Legion d’Honneur. This is the highest civilian award of French government and was presented by French Ambassador on behalf of French Republic President. The award was instituted by Napoleon Bonaparte in 1802.

Loretta Lynch is the first African-American Woman Attorney General

28.04.2015: Loretta Lynch has become the first African American woman to become attorney general in United States. She was appointed in place of Eric Holder who left the position on April 24. Lynch was born in North Carolina in 1959. She is the 83rd attorney general of the country.

Omar al-Bashir re-elected Sudan President

28.04.2015: Omar al-Bashir won the presidential re-election and is re-elected as Sudan president for the next term. He will be in power for the next five years. He was elected first in the year 1989. In these presidential elections, National Congress Party won 323 parliamentary seats.

Sarjubala, Pinki won Gold Medals at President’s Cup

28.04.2015: Sarjubala and Pink, boxers from India won gold medals at 22nd President’s cup open international boxing tournament in Indonesia. Pinki defeated Nan dintsetseg of Mongolia to win the medal. India won two gold medals at the event.

Wladimir Klitschko Won Heavyweight Title

28.04.2015: Wladimir Klitschko won the American Challenger Bryant Jennings to win World Heavy Weight Boxing title this is the 18th title for him in a row.

Lin Dan Won Asia Championships 2015 Title

28.04.2015: Lin Dan of China won the Badminton Asia Championships 2015 men’s title held in Wuhan, China. He won the title for the fourth time. He also won world championship five times and Olympic gold medal twice before.
