Former Air Chief Marshal Hrushikesh Moolgaonkar is No More

10.04.2015: Hrushikesh Moolgaonkar, former chief marshal passed away due to illness. He service as air chief from 1076 and was retired from service as chief marshal in 1978. He led the fly-past on Independence Day in 2947 and also on first Republic day in 1951.

Richie Benaud, Former Australian Captain Passed Away

10.04.2015: Legendary cricket commentator Richie Benaud who is the former Australian captain passed away. He is 84. Benaud led Australia tem in 28 test matches. He played a total of 63 matches and scored 11,719 runs which include 23 centuries with an average of 36.50. He retired from cricket in 1964.

Thane elected national Earth Hour Capital 2015

10.04.2015: World Wildlife Fund elected thane as the National Earth Hour Capital 2015. Earth Hour City Challenge 2015 finalists were Pune, Rajkot and Thane and Thane emerged winner. The actions that helped thane to become the winner are the solar water heating systems for government offices, solar energy for lights and air conditioners, ESCO project, energy efficient street lighting and so on.

New Crab Spiders Discovered in Telangana

10.04.2015: G B Pravalikha and Chelmala Srinivasulu, wildlife and Taxonomy researchers of Osmania university found new spiders belonging to Thomisidae family in Karimnagar, Telangana. These are now named after Telangana state as Telangana Crab spiders. These are sized between 3mm and 23 mm and are in dull to bright colors.
