Ford has already announced about launching a brand new edition of the Endeavour sports utility vehicle in the Indian market. The former variants of the model launched so far went successful in the domestic market and Ford is looking forward to receive a breakthrough straight ahead this year. The brand new Endeavour has already been launched in Thailand and an enthusiast has spotted a fully built unit of the same in India for the first time recently.

An enthusiast has recently spotted a fully built unit of the brand new Endeavour while it was being halted on roads near Acharapakkam town of Tamil Nadu. The vehicle was not at all covered with any camouflage except few straps on the front fascia. The new variant of the model comes with modified exteriors as well as new interiors. The materials used for making exterior body parts are tougher than those used in former variants. As per the information, the new edition comes with around 225 mm more ground clearance than the former edition. Added ground clearance makes the ride much comfortable when compared with other models of the segment.

Ford is likely to offer the new Endeavour SUV with two distinct engine choices in the Indian market. The base variants of the model gets powered with a 2.2 litre four cylinder Dura torq engine that is capable of generating around 158 hp power at the peak along with 385 Nm of torque. Engine comes mated to a six speed manual transmission gear box by default and there is no information about offering automated transmission in the country yet. Higher end variants get powered with a 3.2 litre five cylinder Dura Torq engine that churns out around 197 hp power at the peak along with 470 Nm of torque.

The brand new edition of the Endeavour SUV is expected to get priced around Rs. 24 lakhs in India and it tackles rival models such as Honda CR-V, Chevrolet Captiva and Hyundai Santa Fe etc.
