26.3.2015: Vikas Swarup is appointed as the official spokesperson of Ministry of External affairs. Vikas Swarup is the author of novels like Q & A on which Slum dog Millionaire movie was based. Vikas succeeds Syed Akbaruddin who is now appointed as chief coordinator of India Africa Forum Summit.

Akhil Sharma’s Family Life wins The Folio Prize 2015

26.3.2015: Akhil Sharma, an Indian American author won the Folio prize for his novel Family Life. His book is chosen as the best fiction novel published in UK in the year 2014. This is his second novel and the first was An Obedient Father. Akhil Sharma is from Delhi and immigrated to US in 1979. Folio Prize was established in 2014 and the first to receive tit was George Saunders for his short stories collection Tenth of December.

Indra Bania, renowned Assamese actor is no more

26.3.2015: Popular Assamese actor Indra Bania breathed his last in Guwahati due to illness. This actor won many national and international prizes for the characters he played. These awards include Locarno International Film Festival special prize for his Assamese Movie Halodhia Choraye Baodhan Khai.

Ashok Bhooshan is the chief justice of Kerala High Court

26.3.2015: Ashok Bhooshan became the new chief justice of Kerala high court. Kerala governor justice P Sathisivam administered the oath of office and secrecy by Ashok Bhooshan. This was held at Raj Bhavan in Tiruvananthapuram.

India Knocked out of World Cup 2015

26.3.2015: India was crushed by Australia in the second semifinal match played at Sydney. Australia defeated India by 95 runs. With this win, Australia entered into final so world cup 2015 and will play against New Zealand who reached the final by defeating South Africa. Final will be played on March 29.
