Bajaj Showcased Boxer 150 Cafe Racer at Istanbul – Tackles Hero Splendor Pro Classic and Royal Enfield Cafe Racer

The native Indian automotive giant Bajaj Auto has been alluring biking enthusiasts from the country with teaser images and news about the upcoming Cafe Racer model. The manufacturer has been working on the retro edition of Boxer from past one year or more and the same was displayed at Delhi Auto Expo 2014 held last year in the month of February in concept form. Bajaj has now displayed production ready form at Istanbul, Turkey.

The new Bajaj Boxer 150 Cafe Racer comes with retro styled external design and it comes with larger wheel base of around 1285 mm. The superior quality of the body parts makes the new edition of Boxer a lot heavier than the commuter edition of the same and the kerb weight of the Cafe Racer is around 123 kilograms. Bajaj has also displayed some other exclusive models such as Pulsar 200 SS and Pulsar 150 NS at the Trade fair along with the new Boxer 150. The unit displayed at the event was painted in dark blue and it has succeeded in attracting majority of visitors at the Fair. The front end and the fuel tank look extremely retro styled but the rear end looks naked due to the absence of silencer on the side.

Bajaj Cafe Racer

Bajaj has powered the new Boxer 150 Cafe Racer with a 144.8 CC single cylinder air cooled engine that is capable of generating around 12 hp power at the peak along with 12 Nm of torque. A new head light with round shaped outfit has been fitted on the front and asset of round shaped turn indicators are fitted on either side. Bajaj is also offering 17 inch five spoke alloy wheels with the Cafe Racer along with tubeless tyres. Instead of the traditional exhaust pipe on the side, Boxer 150 comes with under belly exhaust pipe along with carbon fibre coating. There is no kick start option for the Cafe Racer and we can expect the official debut by end of this year.
