Suzuki Gixxer 150R rendered – Faired edition to take on Hero Karizma ZMR, Honda CBR 150R, Yamaha Fazer and R15?

Suzuki’s Gixxer can be considered as the hot favourite in the Indian market currently and there is no doubt in saying that the model has made things tougher for rival models in the segment. The manufacturer has already overtaken most of the other leading giants in terms of average monthly sales. Indian biking enthusiasts have received a surprise of in the form of a test mule of faired Gixxer earlier. As per sources, we can expect the same by the end of this year.

The manufacturer has realized the need of key players in order to survive in the Indian market due to the increased competition. It is informed that Suzuki is likely to discontinue sale of some models which have failed to attract Indian buyers and decided to concentrate those which have higher scope. We can expect Inazumato be withdrawn from domestic market this year and we can expect the faired edition of Gixxer to get launched with the name ‘Gixxer R’. A rendered set of images of the unconfirmed commuter bike have been revealed over web recently and they could reflect the styling and other cosmetic changes that may be witnessed in the Gixxer 150R.

We may not expect the racing trim of the Gixxer series to get any changes to the engine most probably and all the changes may be purely cosmetic. The bike may get powered with the same single cylinder 154.9 CC air cooled engine that is capable of churning out around 14.8 PS power at the peak along with 14 Nm of torque. It is very clear that the faired Gixxer is mainly aimed at other well reputed models such as Yamaha R15, Fazer, Honda CBR 150R and Hero Karizma ZMR. The fuel tank is likely to get full fairing and the head light may also get modifications in the upcoming Gixxer. We can expect the price of the model to be slightly greater than the no fairing edition mostly.
