Team India defeated Pakistan in their first match in World Cup 2015 tourney. This is the sixth time that India faced Pakistan in world cup. India won all the matches. India set a target of 301 runs for Pakistan. Pakistan was all out for 224 runs. India will play its next match on next Sunday with South Africa.

Adelaide: India continued the tradition at World Cup 2015. Pakistan faced yet another defeat in the hands of India. India defeated Pakistan by 76 runs. This is the sixth win for India on Pakistan in world cup tourney.

Though Team India failed in recent Australia tour, they delivered excellent performance in the first match in ICC World cup 2015. In a match with arch rivals Pakistan, defending champion India Team India set a target of 301 runs for Pakistan.

India won the toss and decided to bat first. They scored 300 runs in specified overs for the loss of seven wickets. Virat Kohli made 107 runs, Raina scored 74 and Dhawan scored a half century which helped India reach the 300 mark. Pakistan Bowler Sohail Khan claimed five wickets.

Indian opener Rohit Sharma disappointed as he lost his wicket for just 15 overs. Another opener Dhawan gave support to Kohli. Both these batsmen added 129 runs to the second wicket. Dhawan was run out and Suresh Raina’s lightning innings helped the score board run. Rain and Kohli added 110 runs to the third wicket.

Team India’s score was 273/2 in forty five overs and it was expected that India’s score will be more than 320 runs. But Sohail Khan sent Kohli and Raina back to the pavilion in consecutive overs. Jadeja played only five balls and made three runs. Rahane did not open his account. Dhoni scored 18 runs.

Misbah is the top scorer for Pakistan. Indian bowlers shami claimed four wicket and Umesh claimed two. Ashwin, Mohit and Jadeja claimed one wicket each. In the fourth over of Pakistan innings, Shami sent Younus Khan back when his individual score was 6.

In 23 overs, Pakistan’s score was 101 for the loss of 2 wickets. At this point Umesh claimed two crucial wickets and gave break to India. In just two overs Pakistan lost three wickets. Afridi and Riyaz were out in the bowling of Shami, which confirmed the defeat of Pakistan.
